  • About

Greg Wootton is well regarded as one of the best Muay Thai fighters to have ever come out of the UK. Not only a highly accomplished professional Muay Thai fighter, he is also a much sought after coach.

After ten years as a professional fighter, during which he fought all over the world, Greg retired and transitioned to coaching. He has since coached at some of the best gyms in London and Los Angeles, training all levels from beginners to professional fighters.

Greg's dedication to coaching Muay Thai stems from his desire to introduce something positive into people’s lives that allows them to make lifestyle changes and become happier individuals. He has been coaching Muay Thai since 2009, and he has cornered fighters at some of London’s and LA's top gyms, been the head coach at Stars Gym and UCL university club, and given seminars throughout the world.

Greg has a 1st class honours degree in sport and exercise science, which he has used to help with coaching Muay Thai. He also has vast knowledge in various fields, including nutrition, psychology, NLP, and S&C, which he acquired from his career in Thai boxing.

His training at KO gym in East London started when he was 15 years old, and he remained there for the entirety of his career. During his time at KO Gym, Greg climbed the U.K. rankings over the following years and began fighting quickly.

Living in Thailand showed Greg the levels to reach for and how much work is needed to be up there with the best.

In his career as a fighter, Greg's greatest achievement was beating Thailand’s most decorated champion Petchboonchu FA group. He climbed to the top of the sport, attaining two world titles and winning various European and British titles along the way. He was ranked UK no.1 in his weight class and represented and medalled for England at world and European amateur championships.

Greg has also spent long lengths of time living and training in Thailand, with the majority of his time at Kiatphontip gym. He has also been to training camps at some of the top gyms in Europe such as Nasser K gym in Lyon, Mike’s gym in Amsterdam, and with the Polish national team in Poland.

Although Greg's fight career was cut short due to injuries, he still remains hugely involved in the sport in other capacities, including coaching and training with elite level athletes.
