By the age of 17 he had already won the English Championship, and before he was 20 he had claimed three British titles.
At 21 he captured his first world title and soon thereafter travelled to Thailand — the home of Muay Thai — where he trained extensively at the renowned Kaewsamrit Gym and fought 28 times, becoming the first British fighter to compete at both Lumpinee and Rajadamnern Stadiums, the sport’s most iconic arenas.
Kieran’s professional career took him around the globe, earning victories and headlining bouts in Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong, France, Italy, Morocco and Holland against elite international opponents. He went on to win multiple world championships across respected sanctioning bodies before retiring from competition in 2011, leaving behind a record marked by both skill and resilience.
From Champion Fighter to World-Class Coach & Gym Founder
Following his retirement as a competitor, Kieran transitioned into coaching — and quickly built a legacy there as well. He founded Double K Gym in London, which was recognised as Muay Thai Gym of the Year in 2016 and became a launchpad for elite talent.
Under his guidance, Double K produced more than 22 world champions in Muay Thai, kickboxing and MMA, coaching fighters including Charlie Peters, Luke Whelan, Jamie Whelan, Evan Jays, Jason Young and Rittijak Chakim to global success.
Kieran’s coaching expertise also crossed into media and popular culture — he notably served as head coach to actor Idris Elba during the training documented for Idris Elba: Fighter, a Discovery Channel production covering Elba’s preparation and first professional fight.
In addition to his gym work, Kieran has become an influential figure in the wider Muay Thai community. Now based in Calgary, Canada, he runs Elite Martial Arts and serves as WBC Muay Thai Representative for Canada, promoting major events and contributing to the sport’s growth across North America through forums like the Muay Thai World Cup and partnerships with major promotions.
